Steamboat Springs Bachelorette Party

A Dreamy Spa Day

‍

Picture this:

A crisp mountain morning, a cinnamon roll the size of your face, and your favorite people all in one place to celebrate an upcoming wedding. Planning a bachelorette party in Steamboat Springs means trading the bachelorette party chaos for something a little more laid back and based in the mountains. Our idea of a weekend that embraces everything that is Beautifully Steamboat: soaking in natural hot springs, wandering a charming western downtown, and (our favorite part) slowing way down for a group spa day on the Yampa River.

Here's how to plan a Steamboat Springs bachelorette weekend that the bride, and every bridesmaid, will be talking about long after the confetti settles.

Why Steamboat Springs Is Perfect for a Bachelorette Celebration

Steamboat is a small town with endless adventure, and it's wonderfully easy to enjoy with a group. Downtown is walkable, the river runs right through it, and the mountains are never out of view. Whether your crew wants cozy and restorative or a little more adventurous, there's room for both here.

A fair warning from the locals: rumor has it that if you drink the water, you'll catch the "Yampa Valley Curse" and be destined to return. This adorable ski town quickly will steal your heart all year round! Did someone say 'first anniversary trip'?

The Main Event: A Bachelorette Spa Day at Waterside Day Spa

If there's one stop that turns a fun weekend into a memorable one, it's a day at Waterside Day Spa. We're a locally loved, woman-owned spa right in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs, tucked next to the Yampa River and overlooking Howelsen Hill. Park along the river, walk through our red brick doors, and let that "ahhh, it's great to be here" moment begin.

Wedding planning is all about taking care of everyone else. A spa day is your chance to let someone take care of you.

Waterside is great for groups

- Space for the whole crew. Our spa comfortably hosts up to eight guests at a time. Typically that's four guests in spa treatments (massages and facials) and four in the salt room, with room for up to four more in the salon for hair, makeup and nails. Bigger party? We have a little wiggle room, so just ask.

- The Salt Room. Our Halotherapy Salt Suite is the first in Steamboat Springs, wrapped in 750 pounds of pink and white Himalayan salt. It's a cozy, quiet place to sip a hot or cold beverage and soak up a few moments of stillness before or after your treatments. We love to offer group salt room time at a discount. Curious what the fuss is about? We explain it in What exactly is a salt room?

- Everything under one roof. Massage, facials, nails, hair styling, lashes, brows and waxing, so the whole party can leave relaxed and photo-ready.

- Local favorite, year after year. Waterside has been voted Best of Day Spa in Steamboat for 2023 through 2026.

Treatments that work beautifully for a bachelorette party

Not sure where to start? These are the two most popular packages for girls' trips and bridal parties:

- Spaaah for Two (3 hours, $550, or $275 each). A half-day retreat for two, with a 60-minute Signature Massage, a Signature Facial and our Salt Suite reserved just for you. Ask about adding lunch in the Salt Suite. Perfect for the bride and her maid of honor, or any pair in the group.

- Spa Teaser (1.5 hours, $199). Short on time? Enjoy a 30-minute Express Massage, a Pick-Me-Up Facial and your choice of a Classic Manicure or Shampoo + Blow Dry before dinner reservations.

- Alternatively, you can simply pull together a "wish list" of everyones dream services and we can help build a spa day that feels fully personalized!

Other Bachelorette Ideas you may LOVE...

Soak at Strawberry Park Hot Springs

Steamboat is named for its natural hot springs, and a soak at Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a rite of passage. Stone pools sit in the trees about seven miles (15 to 20 minutes) from downtown, and the whole place is wonderfully off-the-grid.

A few tips for the hot springs:

- Reservations are required and run in two-hour windows. Each person needs her own reservation, and slots open about 25 to 30 days ahead, so mark your calendar.

- Leave the bubbly behind. No snacks, glass or alcohol are allowed, and they do check bags. Toast the bride before or after.

- Mind the road. From November through May, Routt County law requires 4WD or AWD with snow tires or chains. Local shuttle companies can take the stress out of the drive.

- Know the after-dark rules. Pools become clothing-optional and 18+ only after dark.

- Water shoes. The bottom of the hot springs pools are all raw edges, pebbles, and rocks, and it water shoes help to perfect pedi on the bottom of the hot springs.

Stroll Downtown for Boutiques, Western Wear + Local Sips

Waterside sits just steps from downtown shops, restaurants and river walks, so it's easy to turn your spa day into a full afternoon. Browse the boutiques and galleries along Lincoln Avenue, try on a cowboy hat at one of the local western outfitters (matching hats make excellent bachelorette photos), then raise a glass at a downtown favorite like Steamboat Whiskey Company or Mountain Tap Brewery on Yampa Street.

Starting the day right? Locals love Winona's for brunch, and the giant cinnamon rolls have a real following, praised by Oprah and locals.

Snap Photos at Fish Creek Falls

About five miles from downtown, Fish Creek Falls drops nearly 300 feet and is one of the prettiest photo backdrops in the valley. The short, easy trail to the view is friendly for most fitness levels, which makes it a gentle way to get your steps in (and your "bride tribe" group photo) between spa appointments and dinner. Check trail and parking conditions before you go.

Bonus ideas by season: float the Yampa River in summer, walk or bike the Yampa River Core Trail, snow tubing at Howelsen Hill, or ride the gondola up to Thunderhead Lodge for big mountain views. Check seasonal operating schedules before you head out.
